Ellie Mae’s Selim Aissi Named Cybersecurity Breakthrough Awards CISO of the Year

October 4, 2019

Selim Aissi, Ellie Mae's CSO has been selected CISO of the Year from the CyberSecurity Breakthrough, an independent organization that recognizes the top leaders, companies, technologies and products in the global information security market.

Aissi joined Ellie Mae in 2015 as Chief Security Officer, responsible for the overall security program including security operations, security engineering, governance, risk, compliance and third-party risk. Prior to joining Ellie Mae, Aissi was the vice president of Global Information Security at Visa, where he led critical security programs that transformed Visa’s information security practices, enabled product innovation and drove global expansion via new data centers. Since joining Ellie Mae, he has been named as CSO50, received the Reboot Technology Leadership Award, been named One of the Most Innovative CISOs and one of the Top 100 CISOs globally.

“It is an honor to be recognized by CyberSecurity Breakthrough for Ellie Mae’s cybersecurity leadership,” said Aissi. “Given the nature of the environment today, it is essential to continue driving security innovation, coaching the next generation of Cybersecurity leaders, and ensuring the seamless coordination between private, state and government cybersecurity entities.”

The mission of the CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work and success in a range of information security categories, including cloud security, threat detection, risk management, fraud prevention, mobile security and email security. This year’s program attracted more than 3,500 nominations from more than 15 different countries, says a press release.

“2019 proved to be an exhilarating year for the information security industry between new developments in artificial intelligence, cloud security and new technologies developed in response to the various new vulnerabilities and cyber incidents on the rise,” said James Johnson, managing director, CyberSecurity Breakthrough. “We are excited to officially announce our 2019 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award winners, and we extend a sincere congratulations to all of the 'breakthrough' companies for their well-deserved industry recognition.”
