 Nearly one in five college women were victims of rape or attempted rape during their freshmen year says a new study.

With several thousand criminal acts reported annually on U.S. campuses, ranging from vehicle theft to burglary, assault and sexual offenses, many challenges affect the safety and security of educational facilities.

Our world is full of threats. The buildings and systems we interact with everyday are designed to limit our exposure to the risk of fire, bodily harm and other such threats.
