Kevin Guthrie has taken over as Director of Emergency Management for Florida. He has been with the division for about three years and within the public safety arena for about 32 years.

Previously, Guthrie served as a police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in Jacksonville, Florida before taking on emergency management for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, and then on to a small rural county, Flagler County in northeast Florida. He also worked for Pasco County for a few years as well before he was asked to stay on in the transition team after the previous Director of Emergency Management for Florida left.
