Bonnie S. Michelman, Executive Director of Police, Security and Outside Services at Massachusetts General Hospital, has been named to the Board of Directors for the International Foundation for Protection Officers.

In her current role, Michelman also serves as Security Consultant for the hospital's parent corporation, Partners Healthcare Inc.  an organization comprising of 15 hospitals, hundreds of offsite facilities, a workforce of more than 80,000 and a licensed Police Department.

She has been an instructor at Northeastern University, College of Criminal Justice for more than 25 years. Michelman was appointed in 2010 by DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), a position that she held until 2015.

Michelman is on the Board of Directors and past president for the International Security Management Association (ISMA), is former president of ASIS International and past president and Chairman of the Board of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). She regularly consults on healthcare security, workplace violence, hate crimes, active shooter training, domestic violence, risk assessment/management, disaster planning, leadership, change management and strategic business planning and communications.
