Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Dave Grossman will keynote the 2019 National Association of School Resource Officers’ (NASRO) national school safety conference in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Grossman will present an address titled, “The Active Killer.”

Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, solider and speaker, as well as one of the nation’s leading law-enforcement trainers. Author of the book, “On Killing,” he has served as a trainer and keynote speaker for all major national and international law-enforcement training organizations. He has taught the representatives of thousands of federal and regional agencies in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

“Lt. Grossman kicked off our 2015 conference to great acclaim,” said NASRO executive director Mo Canady. “He always brings an inspirational message focused on how to protect others from persons with homicidal intent.”

NASRO’s 29^th annual global conference takes place June 22-28 at the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge. The conference provides education and networking opportunities to school resource officers (SROs) and other law enforcement officers, as well as school security and safety officials, school board members, administrators and anyone interested in school safety.

Other keynote speakers include:

• Officer Jermaine Galloway, an internationally recognized alcohol and drug education, enforcement and prevention expert who will provide a presentation on current youth and drug trends.
• Pepperdine University law professor Bernie James, who will provide a national school law update.
• Retired Columbine High School principal Frank DeAngelis, safety and emergency management for the Jeffco School District in Colorado, who will speak on recovery after a school tragedy.
