Naval Base Security Project Awarded

Extreme CCTV, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Dedicated Micros, Chantilly, Va. announced that the U.S. Navy recently awarded a significant project, to begin last month, to Executive Technologies Corp. of Charleston, S.C., for a security contract at an East Coast Naval base. The project includes Extreme CCTV’s REG License Plate Capture cameras and Dedicated Micros’ BX2 Digital Video Multiplex Recorders with 640GB. The value of the contract was undisclosed.

NVT Wins PSA Superstar Award

Network Video Technologies, Menlo Park, Calif., was recently awarded one of four Superstar awards at the annual PSA Security Network Member Banquet on March 11, 2005. This award goes to manufacturers who were rated highest by PSA members, security integrators that provide access control and video surveillance solutions. Other winners were CSC, Dedicated Micros and Pelco.

Security Systems Protecting Air Force

Northrop Grumman Corp., Reston, Va., has received a delivery order to provide integrated security solutions to U.S. Air Force bases in Southwest Asia. Under the delivery order, valued at over $33 million, the company’s Mission Systems sector will survey sites, install systems and provide support services to help protect military personnel in the U.S. Central Command Air Forces area of responsibility, which includes Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Qatar.

RAE Launches Online Marketplace

RAE Systems Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., announced that it has launched an online store, RAE MarketPlace US, offering a range of accessories and consumable items including calibration gases, sensors and filters, as well as single-use tubes for gas detection, separation, and humidity filtering. “We launched RAE MarketPlace US in direct response to the requests of our customers to make availability of these high demand items faster and easier,” said Rudy Mui, the company’s vice president of marketing.

The Hilton of Fire Alarm Systems

SimplexGrinnell, Boca Raton, Fla., a business unit of Tyco Fire & Security announced that it has been selected by Hilton Hotels Corp. to provide fire alarm systems to five premier Hilton Hotels, including the world-renowned Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The multi-million dollar contract calls for the company to design and install Simplex 4100U fire detection and alarm systems in the Waldorf-Astoria, the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C., the Hilton Back Bay in Boston, and two Hilton hotels in Northern Virginia.
