Cordasco appointed SIA Vice Chairman
Jerry Cordasco, vice president and general manager of Compass Technologies, Exton, Pa., has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) access control industry group. Cordasco has been involved for more than 25 years in access control and security management. He served vice president of business development for General Electric’s InfoGraphic Systems Inc. Prior to InfoGraphic, he was national director of security system sales for Siemens.
Mineta Named AAPA 2005 Port Person of the Year
The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), Alexandria, Va., has selected U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta as its Port Person of the Year. This is AAPA’s most prestigious annual award, honoring an individual whose outstanding work or service has made a significant contribution to public port authorities and/or maritime commerce. Secretary Mineta received the award and served as the Washington People Luncheon keynote speaker on April 5, for the AAPA’s annual Spring Conference.
Group 4 Technology Hires PR Manager
Kim Rahfaldt has joined Group 4 Technology, Tewkesbury, England as its public relations manager. Rahfaldt will oversee all public relations efforts for the company globally, including AMAG Technology in North America. She will write newsletters, press releases and case studies and manage media relations. Rahfaldt has worked in the industry 10 years, starting at Northern Computers in the marketing department. From there she worked for InfoGraphic Systems and GE Security as public relations manager.
Vector Security Announces Addition
Vector Security Inc., Manassas, Va., recently announced the appointment of Rick Spano. Spano began his career in the electronic and security industry over 15 years ago, specializing in commercial system design and integration, with a specialization in fire alarms.
