In this episode of Lock It Down with Security Magazine, I spoke with Assistant Secretary Todd Wilcox, who serves as Public Sector Chair at OSAC, about his career, the value of OSAC, and trends in the industry.
In our conversation, Wilcox discusses the importance of collaboration and how OSAC is often described as a “two-way street” between government and industry.
"It really comes down to the threat and risk management, and that two-way street is really the sharing of information, the sharing of capabilities across multiple disciplines,” Wilcox said. “We can start with the threats that come in both to U.S. government institutions, facilities, and the rest, and those that come in to targeting our corporate partners in OSAC. This is a good example of the duty to warn. When we get intelligence information that specifically targets an identified U.S. entity or person, we have a legislative duty to warn those people. So, this framework, this ecosystem, this mutually beneficial two-way street facilitates that instantly.”
