However, before she began working toward a career in security, Moore started on another path.

“Before joining the FBI, I worked for an international marketing company, where I developed an appreciation for business, relationships, and the importance of understanding organizational goals,” Moore says.

This experience coupled with her time at the FBI provided her with invaluable lessons and skills for her future journey into enterprise security.

“My years with the FBI shaped every aspect of my leadership philosophy. The Bureau reinforced the value of leading with integrity, remaining mission-focused, and making decisions grounded in intelligence, not assumptions,” Moore explains. “I also learned security begins and ends with people. Technology, policies, and physical safeguards all play important roles, but success comes from relationships, trust, and collaboration. No security organization operates alone. Strong partnerships across business functions, government agencies, and industry create stronger outcomes for everyone involved.”

After more than two decades with the FBI, Moore pivoted to the private sector. She took the role of Chief Security Officer with GE Aerospace in 2023, where she spearheaded the organization’s enterprise-wide security strategy. In December 2025, Moore joined Merck as Chief Security Officer, her current role.

“For a global pharmaceutical company, every security decision ultimately comes back to one thing — patient trust,” Moore says. “Everything we do is designed to help ensure patients receive safe, authentic medicines and vaccines when they need them most. It's hard to imagine a greater responsibility than protecting products which can improve — or even save — someone's life.”

With years of private sector experience under her belt, Moore is a wealth of knowledge in her field — and she recognizes that others are, too.

“I've always believed the security profession is unique because our success isn't measured by outperforming one another — it's measured by how well we protect the people and organizations who depend on us,” Moore asserts. “One of the greatest strengths of the security profession is our willingness to pick up the phone and help one another. We willingly share best practices; exchange lessons learned and help each other solve difficult problems because we understand a simple truth: none of us is as strong alone as we are together. Lasting success comes from trusted relationships, diverse perspectives, and a shared commitment to protecting people and advancing our collective mission.”
