Hackers Claim 19M Records Stolen From French Government Agency

On Wednesday, Apr. 15, the France Titres — also known as the Agence nationale des titres sécurisés (ANTS) — discovered a security incident that may have compromised citizen data.
Affected data may include:
- Login ID
- Full names
- Email addresses
- Dates of birth
- Unique account identifiers
- Postal addresses
- Places of birth
- Phone numbers
At this time, the agency is in the process of notifying impacted individuals.
“No action is required from users,” the agency’s statement on the matter says. “However, they are advised to remain highly vigilant regarding any suspicious or unusual messages they may receive (SMS, phone calls, emails, etc.) that appear to come from ANTS.”
A day after the incident was discovered, a threat actor known as ‘breach3d’ claimed responsibility for the attack and asserted that 19 million records had been stolen. This claim has not yet been verified.
