The “Thinking Globally, Securing Locally: When World Events Show Up at Your Front Door” panel at 2024 SECURITY 500 Conference will feature security leaders discussing broad geopolitical issues. These issues will include Russian disinformation, Chinese influence operations, the conflict between Israel and Gaza, and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The panel will further discuss how these geopolitical issues manifest security concerns at workplaces, schools and other organizations via protests, violence, boycott, and more. 

The panel discussion will take place in Washington, D.C. on November 18, 2023 as part of the SECURITY 500 Conference, a one-day security executive event hosted by Security magazine. The panel will feature Michael Gips, Principle at Global Insights in Professional Security (GIPS), as the moderator as well as other industry experts including:

• Jay Gruber: Associate Vice-President for Public Safety and Chief Public Safety Officer at Georgetown University
• Brian Howell: Vice President, Global Head of Security at ADM
• James Weston: Director, Global Security Liaison & IDL Security Advisor at McDonald’s Corporation

The 17th annual SECURITY 500 Conference will unite high-level security executives and their direct reports in Washington, D.C. on November 18, 2024.
