The Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced $5 million in security grants to go to 27 higher education institutions in the state to fund security enhancements.  

Campus police at the Alabama-based public university, have deployed Omnilert, which gives students the ability to speak or chat with an on-campus police officer directly. 

The University of Chicago will expand its security guard presence and offer new transit options for students, staff and faculty in the neighborhood to enhance safety and security within the community.

University of Utah Police are now using body-worn cameras to promote accountability; increase public trust; provide supportive documentation for complaints, investigations and prosecutions; and improve training opportunities.

Once Yale University closed due to the pandemic in March 2020, the Public Safety Systems and Services team quickly realized that they could change the way access control was used and programmed across campus, while also streamlining security and operations.

Marc Barbiere came to Georgetown about five months before the COVID-19 pandemic struck with the goal of providing a robust framework for the University to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. Barbiere and the newly restructured Office of Emergency Management put together a framework to streamline and organize emergency and pandemic response to continue operations no matter the cause of disruption.

The University of Chicago Police Department was re-accredited with Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA).
