There were at least 3,380 threats against K-12 schools recorded in the 2017-18 school year, a 62 percent increase from threats in the 2016-17 school year, according to The Educator’s School Safety Network (ESSN).
The European Union’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect in May of this year. While many in North America believe that since they are not located within the European Union the regulation does not apply to their operations, the territorial scope of the GDPR is well and truly global.
