Gurvinder Rekhi has been hired as the University of Dayton Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Rekhi comes to the University with more than 25 years of IT management and leadership experience, including 18 years at Catholic higher education institutions.

Rekhi has been the associate CIO at The Catholic University of America since 2021, responsible for enterprise applications, IT security and user services. During his nine years at Catholic University, Rekhi was able to build a strong cyber and information security program, transform the IT advisory and governance model to be more transparent and better prioritize and streamline projects.

Rekhi also spent nine years at the University of Notre Dame, where he was the director of application services and senior IT leader. He has a computer engineering degree from the University of Mumbai and an executive MBA in management of technology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.   

As UD’s VP and CIO, Rekhi will be responsible for enterprise systems, security, project management and user support.
