Case Western Reserve University, a private university based in Cleveland, Ohio, will introduce two new campus safety apps to its university community in August.
Students in need of assistance from the campus safety department will soon use a mobile application, Spartan Safe, to communicate with campus safety officials and receive emergency alerts from the school, according to a university statement.
The app, created by Rave Mobile Safety, can also provide users with emergency phone numbers; share their location with a designated friend while walking alone; submit anonymous tips to the safety department; and provide emergency plans for review ahead of potentially dangerous situations.
