Tom Patterson, a renowned cybersecurity expert, has joined the Board of Directors at Secured Communications.
Patterson is a Strategic Advisor on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure security issues to corporations, governments and the international community. He has served as a senior security executive at Deloitte, IBM and Unisys, where he worked with leadership teams to defend many of the world’s critical enterprises, including those in the energy, healthcare, air transit and government sectors.
Patterson has advised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the White House on security issues, and currently holds a Top-Secret security clearance. He served as the Co-Lead for the White House’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) Cyber Moonshot subcommittee, which outlines an actionable plan for a safe and secure Internet for critical infrastructure by the end of this decade. He is a guest security expert on national and international media outlets including CNBC, Fox, BBC and CNN, and a frequent speaker at events including TEDx, World Economic Forum, Davos, Black Hat, Gartner and other high-level government and industry events.
Patterson is the author of “Mapping Security,” a book that discusses the security conditions in a range of countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific. He is currently a Senior Fellow at Auburn University’s McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security, a regular lecturer at Wharton Executive Education's Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) program, and the Founder of Infrastructure>Forward, critical infrastructure defense firm.
