John Mbuthia has been named the first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Gore Mutual Insurance Company. This appointment represents the first security role on the organization's leadership team. Mbuthia will develop and lead Gore Mutual’s cyber and enterprise security practices.

Mbuthia has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field, having worked as Director of Cyber Security and Chief Technology Officer for Canadian operations at Coca Cola. He has a Master of Science in Information Security Management from the University of Fairfax and has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Kenyatta University. He also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC².
