Andhra Pradesh, a state in India with over 55 million inhabitants, is a center for religious tourism and urban areas. The size and population of the state poses a security challenge to its government, which manages governance and security through a centralized Real-Time Governance Center that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and Internet of Things technologies in order to aid governmental operations.

Responding to rapid economic growth in the region, the Andhra Pradesh government sought to monitor public safety, facilitate traffic and prevent crime in a proactive manner. Aiming to accomplish this goal, the government integrated an intelligent video surveillance solution into their Real-Time Governance Center.

The solution, an AI-powered Unified Video Computing Platform from Videonetics, aims to provide the video monitoring of 14,000 IP cameras deployed throughout 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh. The video management system uses AI, video analytics and facial recognition to highlight potential danger and alert law enforcement of any security issues.
