Pflugerville, Texas Independent School District will be replacing 1,100 cameras district-wide with funds from its 2018 bond for security features and equipment upgrades.

Approximately $1.5 million will go to replacing those cameras and 700 door panels and security badges in the first big project from the district’s security projects paid with 2018 bond funds, says a news report. 

A total $8.613  million in 2018 bond funds is budgeted for security upgrades for cameras, access controls, intrusion detection, fencing and pedestrian safety features, according to district's documents. Security upgrades make up a total of three percent of the overall budget. A total of 26 percent of the budget goes to repair aging systems, such as fire alarms.
