Brazosport Independent School District (ISD) in Texas has decided to update its security measures. The district is using ZeroEyes' AI-based gun detection platform. The technology will be layered on top of the schools’ existing security cameras to identify illegally brandished guns and dispatch alerts to safety personnel and local law enforcement if a gun is detected.
The district is among multiple schools that have updated their security measures in response to school shootings across the country. Improvements have included weapons detection platforms, additional officers, clear-bag policies and visitor screening.
Brazosport ISD encompasses 200 square miles in Brazoria County, Texas across eight municipalities. It comprises 10 elementary, 2 middle, 3 intermediate, 2 alternative and 2 high schools. The platform would be utilized across the district.
