A man using a metal detector found a hand grenade in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, and authorities shut down a portion of the park for more than two hours Thursday, March 21, according to a report from CBS San Francisco.

Officers shut down the area to traffic while the department’s bomb squad responded. They rendered the grenade safe at about 3:30 p.m. local time – just more than two hours after the initial report.

Traffic was reopened in the park about five minutes later, and no one was injured in the incident, the article says.
