Here’s one: Samsung Techwin America used the Atlanta event to display its expanding line of high-end security cameras and DVRs with 15 new products.

“With our fourth-generation proprietary advanced DSP technology available in most of our Samsung Techwin America cameras, we are able to offer state-of-the-art technology in cameras of all price ranges,” said Bob McKee, Vice President of North American Sales for Samsung Techwin America. “Also, because we own the core technologies, we are able to customize the components to meet our specific needs and requirements.”

Samsung Techwin America developed and owns two core DSP technologies, SV-IV and W-IV, enabling them to offer products with advanced optical and image processing capabilities. Night-time operation under low light conditions depends upon effective noise reduction and all SV-IV and W-IV equipped cameras have the industry’s only 3D digital noise filtering system – which is more effective at removing picture noise than any other system on the market (the S/N ratio is 52dB). This means that Samsung Techwin cameras work better in low light and they require up to 70% less digital bandwidth and storage space than ordinary cameras.

W-IV is Samsung Techwin America’s 4th generation DSP engine for non-WDR cameras and provides features such as advanced 3D noise filtering and digital image stabilization, which work together to reduce storage requirements. In addition, the W-IV DSP produces the industry’s highest horizontal resolution specification of 580 TV lines, and has advanced features to enhance low light performance, along with features such as motion detection, privacy masking, highlight compensation, and image flip.

The SV-IV DSP provides the features found in W-IV plus a super wide dynamic range capability that is free from the picture artifacts found in other WDR technologies. In addition, it produces a horizontal resolution of over 560 TV lines that is unrivaled by other similar cameras.
