Sparks, Md.-based AxonX, has extended its SigniFire product line to include a standalone IP network camera. This new product embeds the company’s detection algorithms onto a network camera powered by a Texas Instruments TMS320DM642 digital media processor. With fire, smoke and motion detection analytics residing on the camera, the need to burden the network with video or data is eliminated unless an actual event is detected.
