Third-Party Breach Exposes Pokémon Center Customer Data

The Pokémon Center, the official outlet for clothes, toys, cards, and other merchandise, experienced a third-party data breach that exposed customer order details, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses. The organization itself had not been hacked; rather, a supply chain attack impacted their data.
The company partners with CEVA Logistics (“CEVA”) in order to ship products to customers in the United Kingdom and Germany. CEVA informed the organization that it faced a cyberattack on July 30.
Payment card details should not be compromised by this event.
The cyberattack has disrupted operations for the Pokémon Center, slowing dispatch and delivery. According to reports, some deliveries have even been cancelled, although it is not immediately clear why.
