Electronic Design Group has been awarded the 2023 Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award by SecuritySpecifiers for excellence in security design.

Electronic Design Group (EDG) received the award for their security design work for the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). The large-scale development project encompassed 1.6 million square meters of space comprised of residential, commercial and office buildings, in addition to public parks, a metro station and conference center. As the lead physical security consultant, the team worked tirelessly to cover all stages of the security system design cycle and ensured the final security system was tailored to the specific needs of the site and designed to provide the maximum protection against potential threats.

The Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award recognizes excellence in security system design. The award — put on by SecuritySpecifiers, at its annual CONSULT event for the physical security industry specifically for companies engaged in security engineering and design, and co-sponsored by Security magazine — recognizes collaboration, design excellence, uniqueness, creativity and administration factors that contributed to a highly successful security project. The award is named for the late Elliot Boxerbaum, former President and Founder of Security Risk Management Consultants, Inc., who passed away in 2014 from ALS.

Paul Rizk, president of Electronic Design Group, accepted the award during a ceremony on October 13 at the 2023 CONSULT event in Louisville, Kentucky.
