City of Modesto’s Downtown Wireless; Intransa and Lenel

May 25, 2009

From Zalud’s Blog -- There are now more cameras on the street of Modesto.

Wi4Net, a division of CelPlan Technologies, and a leading provider of integrated wireless broadband and video surveillance solutions, announced the implementation of a wireless video surveillance network for the City of Modesto, California. The first phase of the project implements cameras throughput the downtown section of the City and features a full-scale monitoring center at the Police Department.

“After significant redevelopment efforts in our downtown area over recent years, we are extremely proud to add this safety tool to further spur economic development and improve security in this part of our City,” said Lieutenant Ron Cloward with the City of Modesto Police Department. “After a careful review process, CelPlan’s Wi4Net provided the City with clear benefits in areas of experience, technical specifications and cost.”

The project utilizes Wi4Net’s FlexiVideoTM product, incorporating the FlexiRadioTM wireless communications system. The solution features a multi-radio architecture to assure high system throughput and a superior level of predictability. The wireless camera units are provided with leading camera technology offering 35X optical zoom and multi-stream MPEG-4 encoding. Each camera streams real-time, high resolution video to a state-of-the-art centralized monitoring and storage system, used for viewing, archiving and management.

Intransa Receives Lenel Factory Certification

Intransa has received Lenel factory certification for the integration of StorStac video data management and retention systems with Lenel’s OnGuard access control system. Intransa is a member of Lenel’s OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP).

The integration of OnGuard with Intransa video data management and retention solutions ensures risk free integration for real world customer requirements.   Intransa StorStac systems scale modularly as needed from as little as two terabytes (TBs) of RAID protected, hot-swap video retention through to over 1,500TB of retention capacity. StorStac BuildingBlock (v5.1.1) was tested with the latest OnGuard 2008 Plus (version 6.1.222).

“Intransa, Inc. has completed factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard. We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program,” said Raffaele Ceravolo, director of strategic alliances for Lenel.

Intransa video data management and retention solutions for Smart CCTV DVR Upgrades, Smart All-IP Solutions for Open NVRs, VMS and PSIM systems, and other physical security needs are available worldwide from Intransa StorPartner distributors, integrators and dealers.
