Honeywell has added an economical choice to its popular HD4 camera line. The new HD4D offers high performance in a fully integrated enclosure at a competitive price – enabling users in facilities of all sizes to take advantage of True Day/Night technology.
The HD4D’s True Day/Night switching selects the mode appropriate for reliable performance at all hours of the day or night. Depending on ambient light, the camera switches itself automatically from color to black and white, assuring optimal image quality at all times. The HD4D offers super high (540 TVL) resolution to capture crisp video that gives users exceptional picture quality, and the digital image sensor captures sharp images regardless of lighting levels.

The Digital Noise Reduction feature helps eliminate interference at low light levels and enables the digital video recorder of a surveillance system to record for longer periods of time. “Our customers indicated that they wanted a more cost-effective camera to monitor indoor and outdoor environments around the clock,” said Roberto Testani, product manager, Honeywell. “The HD4D provides just that, a competitively priced solution without compromising on quality. When identification of objects is critical, this camera produces accurate images—with outstanding precision—down to the smallest detail.”

The True Day/Night capability augments other features of Honeywell’s popular vandal fixed dome that make this camera ideal for operating in harsh environments. The discreet housing easily mounts to surfaces ranging from ceiling tiles to concrete, and the camera operates efficiently under a wide range of lighting conditions, voltage fluctuations, and extreme temperature changes. The IP66 rated integrated housing shields the camera from dust, dirt and water, allowing it to be used indoors or outdoors, and the vandal-resistant die cast/polycarbonate enclosure protects the camera from physical attack.
