Officials in Dubuque, Iowa, are considering linking security camera networks owned by the city of Dubuque, Dubuque County and Dubuque Community Schools with the goal of helping first responders during emergencies.

The new strategy is “aimed at ensuring the availability of critical national functions” and “fostering efficiency, innovation, trustworthy communication, and economic prosperity in ways consistent with our national values and that protect privacy and civil liberties.” 

Masharn Franklin was in charge of garnishing money from the paychecks of city employees, and the government says she embezzled money by issuing checks in the names of her relatives.

The Met’s system produced 104 alerts, of which only two were later confirmed to be positive matches. The force says it does not consider the inaccurate matches “false positives” because alerts were checked a second time after they occurred.
