Two large airline trade groups are suing the TSA over how it collects higher federal security fees on airline tickets.

 Following the lead of other major airports throughout Europe, Brussels Airport in Zaventem plans to deploy facial recognition scanners next year. 

International aviation officials agreed to form a task force aimed at better coordinating government security information to prevent another airliner from getting shot down like Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.

The Transportation Security Administration is willing to pay to show them how to make the airport security lines less frustrating.

 Two kayakers have been cited for trespassing after breaching a security perimeter at New York's Kennedy Airport. 

According to Greg DeCanio, the Chief of Law Enforcement at LIMA, the new video management system provides airport security personnel with “the ability to access video at our computers, making us more efficient and letting us monitor activity for security and law enforcement purposes at the touch of a button.”

The U.S. Airforwarders Association told a congressional panel that the TSA should move toward permitting private contractors to train explosive-sniffing dogs. 

As part of a $2.2-billion plan over the next five years, the TSA says it will be adopting a system to identify the risk level of each bag based on information about its owner. Higher-risk passengers’ luggage would receive a more thorough screening. 

Authorities said Thursday that they suspect at least 14 baggage handlers at Los Angeles International Airport of stealing thousands of dollars in electronics, jewelry and other high-priced items from bags and other property at the airport.
