A new report from Veriff analyzes data about the cybersecurity workforce, finding strong cybersecurity industries in the United States, Brazil and Mexico. The report also details which jobs are the most in-demand, having researched global job boards and roles at cybersecurity companies.
Cybersecurity professionals are far more likely to hold vendor-specific certificates than certifications from a vendor-neutral association or standards-based organization, according to the (ISC)2 Cybersecurity Career Pursuers Study. But when asked which qualifications they would recommend to cybersecurity newcomers, professionals tend to prioritize vendor-neutral credentials.

Four students from Carnegie Mellon University won the 2019 Deloitte Foundation Cyber Threat Competition. Team members Karttik Panda, Veera Nandiraju, Sanika Suwant and Nishith Yadav each received $2,000 in scholarship money. Carnegie Mellon University teams have competed since the competition began five years ago, and always rank amongst top performing teams. This is the first win for the university.
