The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) began testing a new, more modest body scanning system at three airports.

TSA chief John Pistole said he has decided not to expand a program that allows airports to replace government screeners with private screeners, saying he does not see any advantage to it.

The Springfield-Branson National Airport wants to opt out of TSA security and go to a private company.

 

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura has sued the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration, alleging full-body scans and pat-downs at airport checkpoints violate his right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.
