Joseph "Rich" Baich has been named the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

According to a CIA statement, Baich will lead the strategy and implementation of the organization’s cybersecurity capabilities throughout CIA’s information technology ecosystem, partnering closely with CIA Chief Information Officer (CIO) La'Naia Jones.

Baich joins the CIA after a long security career in the private sector, having held CISO roles at the American Insurance Group (AIG) and Wells Fargo and leading Deloitte's global cyber threat and vulnerability management practice. He brings military experience to his new CISO role, having served as an Information Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy.
