Internet Protocol (IP) cameras have increased surveillance area coverage at Safti, the largest home improvement and DIY store in East Flanders, Belgium.
The company previously relied on a legacy video system that was hampered by blind spots, poor image quality and insufficient external cameras. In order to remedy these security risks, Safti leaders consulted with systems integrator Vermeulen to install IDIS's DirectIP surveillance technology.
Safti added 20 IDIS Super Fisheye cameras, positioned internally and externally, to their retail location. Four additional IDIS bullet cameras aim to detect threats at parking lot entry and exit points and give complete coverage of the drive-in area. In addition, 17 IDIS vandal-resistant 2MP domes were installed to improve security at checkouts and store entrances.
The cameras are supported by the IDIS Solution Suite Video Management System, which allows security professionals at the organization to monitor and store surveillance footage.
