President Trump to nominate Homeland Security’s Wolfe to take permanent role

President Donald Trump announced in a tweet that he will appoint acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf to take over the role on a permanent basis. Under the Trump administration, the department, has had numerous spots within the organization vacant or unfilled.
Wolf has been acting secretary of DHS since late 2019. There has been no confirmed secretary at DHS since April 2019 when former Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned.
