Spirion, a data security and privacy solutions provider, is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla. In early April, the company gave a corporate donation to a local restaurant so they could provide meals for the hard-working staff at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. The hospital staff was appreciative, says Alison Munn, Social Media Marketing Manager, while the restaurant was overwhelmingly grateful for the business and the opportunity to help. "This got the St. Pete food train moving and prompted our CEO, Kevin Coppins, to come up with a way we could help the local restaurant community," she shares. "We teamed up with the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce to create the 'This One is On Us' restaurant relief program to benefit local food service workers affected by Florida’s mandated shutdown to slow the spread of coronavirus."

Spirion employees were given the opportunity to contribute via payroll deduction in order to provide meals for restaurant employees, either to take home to their families or feed others in need, Munn says. "With participation from the Chamber and other local businesses, our goal is to provide 5,000 meals over the next three months. We are proud to call St. Pete home, and the overwhelming response from the community to support each other in this time of great uncertainty has been reassuring! Thank you for the opportunity to share our story. We look forward to hearing about other good news from the security community."
