The Oklahoma School Security Institute launched a tip line for people to submit threats to schools across the state.

Tips can be submitted online at www.tipline.ok.gov or by calling 1-855-337-8300.

Tips will be relayed to school administrators and law enforcement.

“In a study of past incidents of school violence, it was shown that in most cases, someone knew about the incident before it occurred,” said Kim Carter, the Director of the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security.

“We believe when students, parents, school staff or any citizen makes a report to the Tip Line, it will have the potential to stop a violent act.”
