Copenhagen “Games” Go IP Security Video
Securitas Systems, a leading security integrator, tells Security Magazine that it held a special event for Swedish customers during the European Athletics Championships in World Track and Field in early August. The event is the world’s fourth-most popular sporting event after the Summer and Winter Olympics and World Cup Soccer. Included in the security activities: Securitas demonstrated the latest product offerings, including Milestone Systems XProtect Enterprise IP video software.
Securitas also installed the surveillance software in areas around the European Championships stadium. These images were available remotely for viewing at the Securitas Systems facility, where they are demonstrating the software to interested customers.
France’s Rouen Transit Authority Selects Networked Video
France’s city of Rouen has deployed Verint’s networked video solution across a portion of its network of buses and trams to ensure a safe and secure travel environment for tourists and local residents.
As one of France’s most historic cities, Rouen attracts visitors from around the world each year to its museums, churches and other historic sites including the site of the execution of Joan of Arc, the burial place of Richard the Lion-Hearted and some of France’s greatest works of art. Rouen’s citywide system of buses and trams transports more than 58 million passengers each year to these and other attractions. The Verint solution will enable transit personnel to monitor the safety and security of passengers as well as deter vandalism and crime. The solution will be delivered in conjunction with Verint partner SLE.
