What do zebras, school groups and high-tech surveillance have in common? They're all part of a day’s work for the security team at the Toledo Zoo. In this webinar, Vice President of Security & Safety Operations Regina Lester will discuss how this dynamic public environment leverages cutting-edge security technologies to protect people, animals and assets.
In this session, discover how enterprise-level security strategies are adapted to manage complex challenges — ranging from open terrain and dense crowds to sensitive habitats and after-hours threats. Learn how integrated systems including access control, surveillance, digital radios, intrusion detection, temperature monitoring, dispatch centers, and more are orchestrated to keep operations safe and seamless.
Learning Objectives:
1. Gain insight into the role of surveillance technology in diverse, open-air environments such as zoos and other non-traditional venues.
2. Better understand access control strategies that balance public accessibility with restricted area protection in facilities.
3. Discuss safety and security technology and strategies for practical implementation.
4. Learn about adapting traditional security technologies for the unique operational challenges faced by zoos and similarly dynamic environments.
