Axis Communications Opens 20th Experience Center in the Americas

Axis Communications recently announced the opening of its 20th Axis Experience Center (AEC) in the Americas, located in Detroit, Michigan. The new facility provides customers and partners with a hands-on environment to explore the latest intelligent IP solutions for security, operations and business intelligence. Since opening its first Americas AEC in 2012, Axis has steadily expanded its global network as part of a long-term strategy to be closer to customers and partners, making this 20th location a significant milestone in its growth and commitment to local engagement.

“Our AECs are designed to provide local communities with the opportunity for hands-on experience with some of today’s most innovative and emerging technologies,” said Paul Winsker, Business Area Director – Mid Atlantic at Axis Communications. “With its blend of industrial heritage and modern resurgence, Detroit is the perfect location for our 20th AEC. Our goal isn’t just to meet the business and educational needs of our local customers and partners, but to also provide a welcoming space where ideas can be tested, partnerships strengthened, and solutions that solve real-world challenges developed together.”

Located in the One Campus Martius building, the 7,200-square-foot AEC offers more than technology demonstrations. The facility is directly across from Campus Martius Park, with a balcony providing views of the Detroit River and Windsor, Canada, reinforcing the center’s connection to the city. The building’s atrium features the tallest indoor waterfall in the U.S. at 114 feet, adding an impressive architectural element. Designed for collaboration, the AEC is focused on solving complex challenges and helping organizations build smarter, safer environments. Visitors can explore how Axis solutions — including network video, analytics, audio, access control, and other IoT-enabled devices — work together to enhance safety, improve efficiency, and deliver meaningful business insights.

The Detroit AEC features several purpose-built spaces designed to support learning, collaboration, and solution development, including:

  • A state-of-the-art Security Command Center, demonstrating how modern security operations leverage intelligent video, analytics, and connected devices to provide situational awareness and real-time decision-making.
  • An Axis Communications Academy training room, for certification courses, partner training sessions, and educational events that help integrators and end users stay ahead in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
  • An engineering and testing lab, where partners can evaluate integrations, validate system functionality, and experiment with new solutions before deployment, enabling more confident, tailored system design.

“This opening represents more than just another AEC for Axis,” said Fredrik Nilsson, VP of Americas, Axis Communications. “It represents how far we have come as an organization in the Americas. Fourteen years and 20 AECs later, we continue to find new ways to engage customers and partners while advancing innovation through new technologies and solutions. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited about what lies ahead.”
