85% of Organizations Approach Cybersecurity Reactively

A report from Unisys finds that 85% of organizations approach cybersecurity issues reactively, responding to threats only after the damage has been done. When it comes to leveraging proactive, zero-trust security systems that could help mitigate these risks, less than two-thirds (62%) plan to adopt or have already adopted such measures.
Key findings from the report include:
- To decrease downtime after cyberattacks, 61% prioritize cyber recovery.
- Less than half (43%) leverage AI for cyber protection
- 71% report their organization’s cyber preparedness is insufficient for withstanding quantum cryptography incursions.
This gap between crisis and action leaves organizations vulnerable and may contribute to downtime expenses, with approximately half estimating costs of $500,000 or more each hour.
