Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems, and service provider of aftermarket support. The company supports airlines and U.S. and allied government customers in more than 150 countries and employs more than 150,000 people across the United States and in more than 65 countries.

To support the size and growth of its business, Boeing opened its Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in 2017 to optimize its security and fire protection operations in the United States and to greatly enhance its ability to protect its employees and assets around the world.

The GSOC provides the company with a global risk management service and standards that are focused on providing a common operating picture of the company’s global enterprise, including centralizing its emergency and non-emergency dispatch; facilitating crisis management operations; and providing risk intelligence support to the company’s leaders.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Summarize lessons learned from establishing a GSOC
  • Explain best practices with staffing model options
  • Describe the ability to conduct integrated event detection and analysis to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its security and fire protection team
  • Recognize how collaborative relationships with law enforcement and industry partners are critical to success
