Following a tragic spring death related to an iPhone robbery on a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) platform stairway, after several so-called “flash mob” attacks on or around stations, and linked to a new Chicago mayor, CTA President Forrest Claypool said in mid-June that he plans to double the number of security cameras across the rail system, while also working with police to enhance security for passengers.
