Leo Howell, chief information security officer (CISO) at Georgia Tech, has been selected interim Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Institute. This announcement comes after the recent appointment of Daren Hubbard’s appointment to interim Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance.

Howell will begin his new role on June 20. Both Hubbard and Howell will serve in interim roles until the permanent position of Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance is appointed. Howell will join the president’s cabinet and continue to serve in his current role as CISO.

Howell joined Georgia Tech in October 2021, reporting directly to Hubbard as the Chief Information Security Officer.
