According to the "International Body Armour Survey Whitepaper 2022" from PPSS Group, 78% of surveyed security professionals have been physically assaulted on duty.

The whitepaper explores the uses of body armor and experiences of security professionals on the job. The survey was completed by 729 security professionals from countries around the world between February 1 and March 31, 2022.

Body armor can protect security officers from blunt force trauma and heavy bruising, according to the report.
