Mike Gips, Security magazine columnist, was named a regional finalist in the 2022 Azbee Awards, presented by the American Society of Business Publication Editors based on journalism, design & editorial excellence!

Gips has been a regular monthly columnist for Security since May 2020. In his column, Gips aims to spark dialogue on leadership, management challenges and the evolution of the security profession.

As a security industry columnist, Gips flouts the typical jargon-ridden approach, instead trying to connect with readers on a more personal level. Every month he engages our readership in a new and unusual way - such as through satire, seasonal commentary, emerging trends, humor and even sports.

Gips was named one of Security magazine's Most Influential in Security in 2019 due to his work in the security industry and with ASIS. In addition to his monthly column, Gips also writes feature articles for Security on occasion.
