California selects emergency mass notification system
The state of California selected a new emergency communications platform, which will be available to hundreds of alerting authorities to help protect over 39 million residents.
Atos Public Safety, LLC selected Rave Mobile Safety, a provider of communication and collaboration platforms, as the Next Generation 911 (NG911) Alert and Warning System platform for California.
The system enables data sharing, mass notification and emergency response coordination. The platform will help consolidate and expand current capabilities into one state-wide solution to meet the state's emergency communications needs, covering everything from earthquakes, wildfires and tsunamis to civil disturbances and major sporting events.
With the platform, emergency managers will access neighboring agencies' systems for backup and redundancy to ensure communication during critical events.
