Oklahoma County District Judge Don Andrews rejected a request by pro-gun control advocates to toss a law eliminating requirements for most gun owners to undergo a background check or training before carrying a firearm in public.
According to a news report, Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) signed the "constitutional carry" law in February. It eliminated the requirement for a licence to carry a firearm, concealed or openly, for most adults that are 21 or older.
Andrews ruled the plaintiffs had failed to prove the law would cause irreparable harm to them if it were allowed to take effect, says the news report.
