Project managers attending ISC West 2018 in Las Vegas on April have multiple opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills in the security industry with education and information provided by the Security Industry Association (SIA).

“SIA’s security project manager offerings are the only education and certification resources tailored specifically for project managers in the security industry,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “With SIA’s security project management courses and certification exam, security project managers demonstrate significant capabilities that helps to advance their career and support their employers. Systems integrators with SIA membership tell us that it distinguishes them from the pack, particularly when bidding for highly competitive projects.”

SIA will conduct its well-regarded Security Project Management (SPM) Training Seminar on April 9-11 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. The 2.5-day SPM course reviews principles of project management, including budgeting, client management, timeline execution and more. SIA Members save $300 per each student attending the SPM Training Seminar. Registration information is available on the SIA SPM webpage.

Following the SPM Training Seminar on Wednesday, April 11, SIA will administer the certification exam for the Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) credential. CSPM is the only credential that addresses the unique demands of a security project manager. CSPM demonstrates that holders of the credential can manage complex, technical security projects. Many large integrators have begun to require or prefer CSPM credentials for their senior project managers.

Although the SPM course and the CSPM exam are not necessarily directly linked, project managers with more than three years of experience will find convenience in the opportunity to sit for the CSPM exam immediately following the SPM course, making the most of their time and adding incredible value to their trip to ISC West 2018. For more information on CSPM certification, visit the SIA CSPM Certification page.

For those not yet ready to commit, SIA will host an informational session on CSPM on Thursday, April 12 at Sands Expo in Room 507 at 10 a.m. PT.
