Three people were wounded in a shooting at the Lone Star College System campus about 20 miles north of downtown Houston.

The shooting was the result of an altercation between two people, and at least one was a student, said CBS News, which also reported that both people involved in the altercation were wounded and hospitalized. A college maintenance man was injured in the crossfire and also taken to a hospital.

College spokesman Jed Young confirmed the campus was put on lockdown following reports of a shooter, the report said. The college issued an alert on its website telling students and faculty to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus.
