Quiksilver, Inc., a clothing company, has chosen to install
security cameras and electronic article surveillance (EAS) anti-theft systems
at their newest surf and ski shop in the Portugal’s
Colombo Shopping Centre.
“It was easy to decide which security
solutions the company should use, as ADT has provided electronic security
systems for other Quiksilver shops, and we were confident about the reliability
and quality of its solutions. Furthermore, the ADT systems harmonize perfectly
with the aesthetics of our shops,” says Luís Falcão of the Luís Falcão Simões
de Carvalho Company, the Quiksilver representative in Portugal.
Quiksilver has installed a security
camera solution based on a digital video management system as well as an EAS
system. The system uses ADT’s acousto-magnetic (AM) technology, which offers
high levels of detection. Its digital signal processing system ensures
performance even under harsh electronic noise conditions.
EAS is a popular anti-theft solution for
many clothing shops. The system is simple to install and helps prevent theft.
This is particularly important during discount sales periods or at Christmas
when customer traffic is crowded at best. In addition to helping retailers
combat increasingly sophisticated shoplifting tactics, the system’s options
also provide detailed operational information such as intelligence about alarm
activations.
